This place was affordable and the staff was super friendly. Their in house bread is amazing. Food was great
MoreGood food. Homemade bread. Only downside was flies
Nice little diner - good food, very good prices - friendly staff. Situated pretty conveniently for folks heading to Sunday River, I imagine it is quite busy before the mountain is open. We stopped in for breakfast around 930 and had our choice of seats; my friend had a breakfast sandwich that he made short work of. I enjoyed a combination plate with eggs cooked (correctly) to order, bacon, nicely seasoned home fries and a large pancake - and some wonderful raisin toast. No complaints here!
MoreWaitstaff s very friendly. Food was great. Casual spot for lingering over breakfast or brunch. Great atmosphere.
MoreGood food,waitress very pleasant
The food was amazing but there was only one cook and the very small space was packed.. coffee was cool.. and the building in disrepair.. even the menus need to be updated
MoreIf this is the food locals are used to then I feel bad for them. The home fries were a crime against humanity. Not a sprinkle of seasoning. The eggs were cooked perfectly. That was the only positive.
MoreBest diner in Maine. Pizza sized pan cakes, real potatoes fries, good coffee and super friendly staff !! Will come back.
MoreDelicious breakfast with homemade bread. Warm, inviting atmosphere.
Excellent food and staff. It was great to dinne outside on the long porch.
Service was good, smoked chicken burger was good, fries were definitely worth it! Good Cobb salad as well
MoreMuch better than expected. That cheeseburger burger was simply perfect. It was nice to go back to Bethel and find this place. The girl who is working there is extremely kind, it was a lovely service. And the guy in the kitchen was amazing too. Even though they do not sell disco fries (A Jersey recipe I love and I wanted to have) they made it for me. Loved it. The place was cozy, clean, and comfortable.
MoreGreat pancakes and great hospitality! The atmosphere was like a good old fashioned restaurant! Loved it!
MoreThis is my first negative review ever. It took very long until food came. We were group of 4. We ordered appetizer, 2 salads and 2 burgers. It took more than 45 min to bring an appetizer. Food came even later. One burger was good, but other 3 dishes were not good. I will NEVER come back and would not recommend to anyone.
MoreWe had an early dinner at this diner and we will not return. The one server had a full porch and diner to take care of. We ordered a glass of house wine, but they were out. Friday night?! Could have bought a bottle at Rite Aid next door! I chose a different one and the wine glass had lipstick on the rim. Our meals were marginal. Cold potatoes. I ate the nice side salad only. The cook was alone, too. It just caused stress to watch them. People were leaving when they were informed that there would be a 45 minute wait. I do not recommend this diner. We had gone for breakfast there when traveling in the area, but will not return.
MoreWasn’t my favorite place. Waited 40 minutes for eggs and toast and bacon and it wasn’t warm and the cheese wasn’t even melted.... my water cup was greasy and my server was not very friendly. Although meal portions were generous and may have been better if it were at least warm.
Morehad breakfast here with the family and it was very good. I had the biscuits and gravy special which was good. I personally like a harder biscuit but they were still good the way they were made. The portion was on the smaller side but it was still really good. Pancakes are massive and awesome and they have really good coffee. Overall it was a positive experience and I would definitely go back.
MoreAmazing food, fast and delightful wait staff. You cannot beat the smaller "Ma& Pa" family restaurants!
MoreGood comfort food, food is always served hot. Nice old diner feel. Friendly staff.
MoreGreat NY style pizza. Drove past two other pizza places to get here. I wish I could give it SIX stars! Spectacular..EDIT: No longer doing pizza. Part-time hours that seem to change and it sucks. This was my FAVORITE pizza place within 200 miles...seems like they are struggling now, its really too bad.
MoreGreat breakfast place. Friendly service. Great quality food, husband had steak and eggs. Steak was good quality. I had raisin French Toast. All bread was homemade. No wait. Tea was good quality for restaurant brand. Coffee also good.
MoreFRESH good food. Example: they make all their own dressings. Thousand Island dressing was heavenly. Hamburger was very delicious, cooked perfectly to order. Spinach salad was fresh, with just-fried thick bacon. The two sandwiches were just as ordered with fresh meat. Looking at food ordered by other patrons, it's clear they know how to cook great comfort food. Missed out on the chilli (stomachs too full), but we will return to try it! We also did not try any pizza, but they looked good, too. Pizza at a diner!? Dunno about that, but will have to come back to try it. The coconut cream pie was very good and fresh; they make it themselves (we even got the recipe). It's so odd reading some way less than positive reviews of this place online because our experience was so great. I can't think of any way it could have been better (for us, and our tastes).
MoreAmazing blueberry pancake–thick but cooked l the way through. Veggie omelet with homemade wheat toast was excellent as well. Came back two mornings in a row while hiking the Appalachian Trail!
MoreGreat breakfast with home made cinnamon raisin bread and muffins. Friendly service and good prices.
MoreGreat breakfast-lunch spot. Inexpensive but delicious food
This place have the best burgers, crossroad burger is number 1,for my family, so yummy. We love the food and service. The corn chowder was not too good to me but everything else was exceptional. Our waiter Kijha was very nice, catered to our every need with a smile. Will come here every time I visit Maine. :)
MoreAte breakfast twice. Good food. A little expensive for what you get.Blueberry pancake was excellent. Home fries were also seasoned wonderfully.Very slow service both times. If you are in a hurry, probably not a good idea. Took about 30 minutes after we ordered.
MoreI found this place to be friendly and with good food. I ate here several times over the past few days and was always pleased with my meals. The prices are reasonable and the food homemade. I loved the lasagna and the quiche! I always felt welcome and I will come back.
MoreWe've been here twice so far. The first time it was just us (me and my spouse). The service was great and the food delicious! The second time (July 2019) we brought another couple. The service was horrible and the food was like warm. We waited for about 20 minutes and finally asked our server about our food. She went to check on it and came back apologizing that she had forgotten to put our order in. She gave us the option to leave, but we asked her to put in our order. Another 15 min later our food came out and it was like warm and my friend's order was wrong. She ate it anyway because we had already been there for 35 minutes and she was starving. Not sure we'll go back.
MoreService was bad pancakes were bad do better in life!
The food was really good when we got it. We really liked sitting/eating on the porch. I would have given 4 stars if it wasn't for the long wait. We were told it would be 45 minutes. We understood but then it took another 45 minutes before the food arrived. Another party left before their food arrived because of the wait. The raisin bread was delicious. We loved being able to create your own omelet. It was really good! Our waitress wouldn't come back to our table. (She was young) We asked other waitresses at least 4 times! I know she was busy but avoiding us was not the answer! She did apologize when we paid full price. (There was no offer to discount the meal or take off the price of the coffee.)
MoreDelicious food and very friendly staff. They had homemade bread and delicious blueberry pancakes.
MoreGreat place for breakfast. Homemade corned beef hash. Great homemade cinnamon raisin toast, thick and soft inside. Coffee tastes great. Good diner atmosphere with a nice cross-breeze.
MoreFriendly and fast service. Great omelettes. Huge pancakes.
We were seated with no menus - had to get our own! Took order without asking if we wanted drinks! Got drinks no straws! 3 parties came in after us and were serve red before us! We waited about 40 to 45 mins to get our burgers and chicken sandwich! Both burgers were ordered well done - could still taste uncooked meat - they were undercooked! Will not be returning!
